About the Role

The Features Video Producer works inside CNN’s digital content operation, producing character-driven and culture-focused stories that live natively across social and multi-platform video workflows. Day to day, this person is developing original pitches, running pre-production, managing field or studio shoots, and either cutting the edit or supervising a post-production workflow to picture lock. The content spans music, culture, lifestyle, travel, science, and entertainment, with an emphasis on visual storytelling that performs on digital platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop original story ideas and produce them through every stage of the digital video production pipeline, from concept to publish.
• Build and executive-produce ongoing digital series designed for social-first distribution and multi-platform video audiences.
• Run full pre-production on each piece, including scripting, storyboarding, interview development, crew booking, and field logistics.
• Direct shoots in the field or studio, managing crew and on-camera talent to capture footage that serves the editorial goal.
• Edit or supervise the edit in Adobe Premiere, with a clear eye for pacing, structure, and visual cohesion across a range of story formats.
• Troubleshoot production challenges under deadline pressure, keeping projects on schedule without compromising editorial quality.

What You Bring

• Five or more years of video journalism or production experience at a major news organization or production company.
• A track record producing features content in categories such as culture, lifestyle, music, travel, or entertainment.
• Proficiency in Adobe Premiere and a working knowledge of digital-first and social video production workflows.
• Demonstrated ability to shoot in the field, which is strongly preferred for this position.
• Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously across different stages of production.
• Motion graphics experience is a plus but not required.
