Project Type: Commercial
Job Date: Full Time
Compensation: $55,000 - $63,000/year

FOX Entertainment is hiring a Producer for FOX6, its broadcast television station based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This role sits inside the newsroom, where the Producer owns the shape and content of morning newscasts, from stacking and showcasing to writing teases and executing the show from the control booth. It is a strong fit for a working news producer who is comfortable making quick editorial calls and wants to lead a broadcast that competes seriously in its market.

About the Role

FOX6 is part of the FOX Television Stations group, which collectively produces approximately 1,200 hours of local news programming each week across 29 stations nationwide. The Producer on this morning broadcast television team is responsible for the editorial and structural decisions that define each show, working across live news production, breaking coverage, and digital and streaming extensions of the broadcast. A typical day involves building the rundown, coordinating with reporters and anchors, responding to breaking news, and calling the show live from the booth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Stack and produce the morning newscast, making real-time editorial decisions on story placement, pacing, and live element integration.
  • Write and edit teases, tosses, and anchor copy that serves both broadcast television and streaming news platforms.
  • Execute error-free newscasts from the production booth, directing communication clearly with reporters, directors, and technical crew under deadline pressure.
  • Establish FOX6 as the primary source for breaking news in the Milwaukee market through strong sourcing, accurate reporting standards, and urgency in production.
  • Maintain an active digital and social presence for broadcast segments, contributing to the station’s online news workflow alongside traditional air content.
  • Apply non-linear editing skills as needed to support the production of segments for both linear broadcast and digital newscasts.

What You Bring

  • A minimum of two years producing experience at a commercial television station, with a college degree in Journalism or a related field preferred.
  • Demonstrated news judgment in a live broadcast television environment, including breaking news situations that require rapid rundown changes.
  • Experience producing or contributing to streaming or digital newscasts alongside traditional broadcast production.
  • Familiarity with non-linear editing workflows, which is a plus but not required.
  • Availability for morning shifts, holidays, and varied hours as the production schedule requires.

Why This Role

FOX Entertainment’s station group operates in 14 of the top 15 U.S. markets, which gives producers here genuine visibility within a large broadcast network infrastructure. This Producer position comes with a salary range of $55,000 to $63,000 annually, with final offer dependent on education, skills, and experience, plus medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) with company contribution and matching, paid parental leave, and educational reimbursement. Benefits for union-represented employees will be governed by the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
