About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver character and creature animation that captures both naturalistic movement and stylized exaggeration depending on the shot’s creative requirements.
• Build convincing performances for characters, creatures, and props that hold up against the project’s creative vision at every stage of the animation pipeline.
• Work directly with rigging and technical animation teams to troubleshoot rig behaviour and keep the animation workflow moving efficiently.
• Provide clear, actionable feedback during cross-departmental reviews and contribute to solving both creative and technical problems at the shot level.
• Keep animation supervisors and production teams informed of shot progress, flag potential bottlenecks early, and adjust priorities as the schedule demands.
• Mentor junior animators within the department and contribute to shared knowledge sessions that raise the technical and creative level of the team.

What You Bring

• Several years of production experience in character animation, with credits on feature film animation, VFX-heavy productions, or long-form episodic content.
• Strong proficiency in Maya, with a working understanding of how animation integrates with rigging, simulation, and rendering pipelines.
• Demonstrated range across animation styles, from photoreal creature work to performance-driven character animation.
• The ability to work independently and manage your own shot list without needing close supervision at every stage.
• A reel that clearly shows weight, timing, acting choices, and an understanding of how performance serves story.
