About the Role

You’ll be embedded in the compositing team at Blackkitestudios, working across multiple projects that span commercial, episodic, or feature film production depending on the studio’s current slate. Day to day, that means pulling plates, integrating CG renders, handling clean-up and colour matching, and delivering shots that hold up at final review. The VFX pipeline here is built around close collaboration between compositors and supervisors, so expect regular shot reviews and iterative feedback.

Key Responsibilities

• Composite live-action footage with CG passes in Nuke, maintaining photorealistic integration across all shots delivered to the VFX Supervisor.
• Manage and track your own shot queue within the production pipeline, hitting milestones across multiple concurrent deadlines.
• Perform roto, paint, and clean-up work as part of the standard compositing process on each shot.
• Apply colour grading and matching techniques to ensure consistency between CG elements and on-set photography.
• Troubleshoot technical issues within the post-production workflow, identifying and resolving compositing problems before they escalate to the supervisor level.
• Contribute to internal quality reviews by giving and receiving technical feedback on shot work across the team.

What You Bring

• Mid-level compositing experience, typically three or more years of production credits in a VFX studio environment.
• Strong working knowledge of Nuke as your primary compositing software, with Flame experience considered a plus.
• Credits across feature film production, episodic television, or high-end commercial work that demonstrate clean, finished compositing output.
• A methodical approach to problem-solving on shots, with the ability to work independently once a brief is established.
• Familiarity with CG rendering outputs including AOVs and multi-layer EXRs within a standard VFX pipeline.
