Project Type: Animation
Job Date: Full Time
Compensation: $61,800 - $79,800/year

Disney is hiring a Music Production Specialist (PH) at Walt Disney Imagineering in Glendale, CA. This role sits inside the WDI Music Studio and owns the full lifecycle of music asset management, from cue sheet preparation and submission to performing rights organizations, to metadata research, archiving, and digital library workflows across theme park and resort productions. It suits a music production professional with a background in music librarianship, publishing administration, or studio music operations who knows their way around both the creative and clerical sides of a production music pipeline.

About the Role

The Music Production Specialist reports to the Global Music Executive within the WDI Music Studio, supporting music production across Imagineering’s global portfolio of theme parks, attractions, and cruise ship entertainment. Day to day, this person is maintaining catalog integrity, tracking cue sheet data, coordinating with music legal and business affairs, and making sure every asset, score, recording, and session file is tagged, searchable, and properly preserved. This is a project hire position with no guarantee of permanent placement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and manage cue sheets for all WDI productions, gathering data from composers, editors, engineers, and music supervisors, and submitting finalized sheets to performing rights organizations in compliance with industry standards.
  • Catalog and archive music scores, recordings, digital assets, and session documentation using standardized metadata taxonomy across both physical and digital music collections.
  • Research and verify composer credits, publishing information, instrumentation, genre, and usage rights, then cleanse and standardize metadata across the full music asset library.
  • Conduct regular metadata audits and generate reports on data health, flagging gaps and inconsistencies across the archive.
  • Digitize legacy materials and manage secure backups and long-term preservation protocols for the WDI music catalog.
  • Coordinate between the WDI Music Studio and other Disney divisions on music licensing, casting, labor, marketing, and audio media workflows, keeping documentation and tracking current across all touchpoints.

What You Bring

  • Hands-on experience with cue sheet preparation and submission to PROs, including working knowledge of SoundMouse.
  • Background in music cataloging and metadata management within a music studio, network department, production company, or music publishing environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to locate obscure music data through non-traditional research methods and compile detailed informational reports.
  • Familiarity with digital asset management tools and archival library systems used in a production music workflow.
  • Strong organizational skills applied to cross-functional music production coordination, including music legal, licensing, and business affairs.

Why This Role

Walt Disney Imagineering produces some of the most technically and creatively complex themed entertainment in the world, and the music infrastructure behind those productions is built and maintained at a high standard. For a music production professional looking to work inside a major animation studio and theme park production ecosystem, this role offers direct access to that pipeline at the source. The scope of projects, from global park openings to cruise ship entertainment, gives this position a production footprint that few music library or cue sheet roles can match.

Apply now for the Music Production Specialist (PH) role at Disney and bring your music production workflow expertise to one of the most recognized entertainment organizations in the world.
