About the Role
Memories of the Past is an independent film production with Spanish language elements woven into its core narrative, making bilingual or Spanish-speaking performers a strong fit for the project. Actors will work through a scripted production process that includes advance scene briefings and ongoing conversations about comfort levels before and during shooting. This is a volunteer project with meals and transport provided, suited to performers building independent film credits in the Vancouver market.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform scripted roles across scenes that may carry sensitive or emotionally demanding themes, as outlined in the production script.
- Engage in pre-production conversations with the creative team regarding scene content, personal boundaries, and comfort levels before filming begins.
- Deliver on-camera performances in Spanish or English depending on the role and script requirements for each scene.
- Prepare a self-tape audition that reflects the specific role being sought, submitted alongside a headshot and acting resume.
- Participate in scheduled shoot days in the Vancouver area, adhering to the call schedule and production timeline set by the directing team.
- Collaborate within the production’s on-set workflow, which is run through the Vancouver Actors Guide community network.
What You Bring
- Screen acting experience in independent film production, student films, or short-form narrative projects.
- Spanish language proficiency at any level is a significant asset, and applicants should indicate their fluency clearly in their submission materials.
- A current headshot, formatted acting resume, and the ability to self-tape to a professional standard.
- Comfort working on productions involving mature or emotionally complex scripted content.
- Willingness to engage openly with the production team during the consent and boundary-setting process prior to filming.
