About the Role

The Manager, Music Production works inside Netflix’s animation studio pipeline, supporting a slate that spans animated series and live-action kids and family content. Day to day, this person is building and tracking music budgets, scheduling recording sessions, coordinating with composers and contractors, and keeping post production, dubbing, and residuals teams aligned on music asset delivery. The role requires someone equally comfortable in a scoring session and a cross-functional workflow meeting.

Key Responsibilities

• Build preliminary music budgets and track all contractual and hard costs across self-managed and partner-managed titles throughout the production lifecycle, from development through post-production delivery.
• Administer union paperwork and manage onboarding and payment workflows for music talent covered under SAG-AFTRA, IATSE, and AFM agreements in coordination with the Labor team.
• Create and maintain music schedules tied to production and post-production timelines, tracking milestones to ensure on-time delivery of all music assets across the episodic television slate.
• Facilitate and schedule music recording sessions, including composer sessions, singer and auxiliary musician bookings, and any associated travel logistics within the approved music budget.
• Lead music workflow strategy meetings with post-production, dubbing, and residuals teams, and train external production teams on the music tracker as the primary source of truth.
• Reconcile vendor and music talent payments in coordination with Finance and Business Affairs, and liaise with composers and contractors on music editor and engineer hires.

What You Bring

• Demonstrated experience managing music production on animated series or kids and family television, with an understanding of both scoring and songs pipelines.
• Working knowledge of SAG-AFTRA, IATSE, and AFM union rules as they apply to music recording and music talent onboarding.
• Hands-on experience building and tracking music budgets across multiple concurrent episodic television productions.
• Familiarity with music tracking tools used as downstream sources of truth in animation studio environments.
• Experience scheduling and managing music recording sessions, including coordinating contractors, engineers, and studio bookings.
