Gray Television is hiring a Lifestyle Videographer and Editor at WCSC Live 5, the top-rated CBS affiliate in Charleston, South Carolina. This role sits within the station’s Emmy-winning Palmetto Life team, producing daily lifestyle segments, sponsored content, and promotional material for both broadcast and digital delivery. It’s a strong fit for a shooter-editor who’s comfortable owning the full production workflow from field acquisition to finished segment, including client-facing work with sponsors and community partners.

About the Role

The Palmetto Life team functions as a lifestyle content unit embedded within a major local television station, producing segments that air across the weekly broadcast schedule including a Sunday morning show. A typical day moves between field production and editing bay work, with the videographer operating independently on location, then cutting segments to air in Adobe Premiere under daily broadcast deadlines. The schedule runs Saturday through Wednesday, with occasional live shot operation using LiveU backpack transmission systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Shoot and edit daily lifestyle segments and sponsored content using DSLR or mirrorless camera systems, with attention to cinematography, lighting, and location audio.
• Staff the Sunday morning broadcast booth and manage segment production across the Saturday through Wednesday work week.
• Set up and operate live shots in the field, including solo operation of LiveU backpack transmission systems when needed.
• Gather story elements, b-roll, and interviews on location with clients, sponsors, and community partners in a professional client-facing capacity.
• Obtain FAA Part 107 drone certification to support aerial video production, with training support provided by the station.
• Manage project files, media organization, and field equipment maintenance across an active daily production schedule.

What You Bring

• A production reel that demonstrates DSLR or mirrorless cinematography, practical lighting setups, field audio, and edited sequences cut in Adobe Premiere.
• Experience delivering finished video content under daily deadlines, whether in local television, digital content production, or branded video work.
• FAA Part 107 drone certification is preferred, though candidates willing to become certified are considered.
• A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, and the physical ability to operate and transport field production equipment.
