Junior video editor remote

Flare Energy Services is hiring a Junior Video Editor for a fully remote position based out of San Diego, CA. This role sits within the post-production workflow, responsible for assembling and delivering polished video content across brand, promotional, and social media formats. It is a good fit for an early-career editor who has built foundational skills in non-linear editing and wants structured mentorship inside a production team.

About the Role

The Junior Video Editor at Flare Energy Services works within a creative department producing branded content and promotional video for multiple platforms. Day-to-day work involves ingesting and organizing footage, building rough cuts for review, integrating sound design and music, and delivering final exports formatted for each distribution channel. The team operates on a collaborative post-production workflow, so this editor is expected to stay current on project timelines and flag any issues with deliverables early.

Key Responsibilities

• Cut and assemble raw footage into polished final edits that meet the brand’s visual and tonal standards across all deliverables.
• Manage media assets throughout the post-production workflow, including footage organization, audio syncing, and graphics file handling.
• Integrate sound design, licensed music, and ambient audio to support the narrative structure of each video.
• Apply basic motion graphics and visual effects using After Effects to support titles, transitions, and branded elements.
• Adapt master edits into platform-specific versions for social media, including aspect ratio reformatting and caption integration.
• Communicate clearly on project timelines, flagging scope changes or technical issues before they affect the delivery schedule.

What You Bring

• Working proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro, with a real project history to show for it.
• Basic familiarity with After Effects for motion graphics work within a branded content or promotional video context.
• A portfolio that demonstrates clean editorial instincts, even if credits are limited to student, freelance, or independent productions.
• Strong organizational habits around media management, file naming, and version control in a collaborative setting.
• Ability to receive notes, revise cuts quickly, and maintain quality across multiple simultaneous projects.

Why This Role

Flare Energy Services offers a remote structure that gives early-career editors access to real branded content production without relocating. The team is small enough that a Junior Video Editor here will touch more of the post-production process than a comparable role at a larger agency, which matters for building a well-rounded reel. San Diego-area industry connections are a practical bonus for anyone looking to grow into broader production work over time.
