Junior Video Editor

Scratch, Melbourne’s direct-to-consumer dog food brand, is hiring a Junior Video Editor based in Abbotsford, Victoria. This is an on-the-tools post-production role sitting inside a small creative team, with output focused almost entirely on paid social ads and organic content across Meta, YouTube, and TikTok. About the Role

The Junior Video Editor works directly alongside the Head of Creative and a Creative Strategist inside Scratch’s in-house content production unit, turning brand shoots, talking heads, and dog footage into scroll-stopping ad creative at speed. Day-to-day post-production workflow includes cutting paid ad iterations, building organic reels, and delivering assets for product launches, with the occasional brand or website video in the mix. The Abbotsford office is where the creative team assembles a few days a week, with remote flexibility available once you’re across the brand and producing consistently.

Key Responsibilities

• Cut and deliver high-volume paid ad creative for Meta, YouTube, and TikTok, prioritising thumb-stopping openers and conversion-focused pacing.
• Edit new creative tests and ad iterations that feed performance marketing feedback loops across paid social channels.
• Build and maintain an ongoing pipeline of organic social reels in collaboration with the broader content production team.
• Edit video assets for product launches and in-house campaign work, turning around finished spots quickly from brief to delivery.
• Work with brand graphics, licensed music, captions, and motion elements to maintain consistent visual storytelling across all outputs.
• Proactively identify missing assets or gaps in a brief and coordinate with the copywriter, designer, and content strategist to resolve them before they slow delivery.

What You Bring

• Hands-on editing experience in Premiere Pro, After Effects, CapCut, or equivalent tools used in social video production workflows.
• A working understanding of what makes a paid social ad perform, including hook structure, pacing, and platform-specific format requirements.
• A portfolio or work samples showing fast-turnaround edits across short-form video content, even if credits are early-career.
• Strong attention to detail balanced with the judgment to know when a cut is done and ready to ship.
• Experience with AI-assisted editing tools or motion graphics is a genuine advantage, not just a checkbox.
