Job Position(s): In-House Video Editor
Project Type: Short Film
Job Date: Full Time
Compensation: Paid - Salary

ProductionBase is hiring an In-House Video Editor based in London, Ontario, Canada. This role sits within the post-production workflow, responsible for cutting and shaping both film content and social media deliverables to a consistent, polished visual standard. It suits an editor who is comfortable owning the creative direction of a project from rough assembly through to final output, within a small team where the scope of work shifts regularly.

About the Role

The In-House Video Editor works directly inside the ProductionBase content team, handling a mixed slate of branded film content and platform-specific social edits rather than a single long-form production. Day to day, that means moving between timelines, managing assets, and making editorial decisions that shape how the company communicates visually. The role requires someone who can work across multiple formats without losing consistency in tone or style.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cut and assemble film and social content from raw footage through to picture lock, maintaining a coherent visual style across all deliverables.
  • Manage post-production workflow including file organisation, media management, and export specifications for multiple distribution platforms.
  • Make creative editorial decisions on pacing, structure, and storytelling without requiring step-by-step direction from a producer.
  • Adapt long-form edits into short-form social cuts, adjusting aspect ratios, captions, and timing to suit each platform’s format.
  • Review and incorporate feedback from internal stakeholders while maintaining editorial integrity and meeting delivery deadlines.
  • Contribute to the development of the company’s visual language by bringing informed editorial perspective to new content formats.

What You Bring

  • Demonstrable experience as a video editor across film content and social media production, with a portfolio that shows range and consistency.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro or a comparable NLE, with working knowledge of After Effects for basic motion work.
  • Experience managing your own post-production workflow independently, including organisation, versioning, and delivery.
  • Comfort working in a small production team where editorial responsibilities extend beyond a single defined credit.
  • Strong eye for pacing and visual rhythm developed through real editing credits, not just coursework.

Why This Role

ProductionBase offers an In-House Video Editor genuine creative input across the full content slate rather than execution of someone else’s cut. The team is small, which means the editorial decisions made here actually land on screen without being filtered through multiple layers of sign-off. For an editor who wants to build a varied body of work while having real ownership over output, this is a practical step forward.
