Head of HR

Untold Studios is hiring a Head of HR based in London to join the People leadership team at one of the UK’s leading independent creative studios. This is a senior, hands-on role sitting within the People function, responsible for building the HR infrastructure, performance frameworks, and people systems that will support the studio as it scales across its global production operations. It suits an experienced HR leader who has operated at a senior level within a creative or production environment and knows how to translate people strategy into practical structures that actually get used.

About the Role

Reporting to the Head of People, this role carries real ownership across HR operations, systems, and organisational development for a studio whose output spans high-end content production for demanding clients. Day to day, you will lead the London-based HR team, manage complex people issues alongside business leaders, and drive key projects across HiBob, ADP integration, reward planning, and career development frameworks. The work sits at the intersection of strategic planning and hands-on delivery, with global reach across Untold Studios’ full talent base.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the London HR team, setting priorities and building capability to support the studio’s growth across its global production structure.
• Develop and implement performance calibration processes and career levelling frameworks that give production and studio staff clearer paths to progression.
• Build consistent salary banding linked to market benchmarking, working with Finance on headcount planning and staff cost management.
• Own the development of HiBob as the core people platform, improving data quality and leading the integration with ADP payroll systems.
• Partner with the Head of People on workforce planning and organisational design as the studio evolves its operational model.
• Review and improve learning and development provision, with a particular focus on building manager capability and growing talent from within the studio.

What You Bring

• Senior HR leadership experience, ideally gained within a creative studio, production company, or content business.
• Hands-on experience with HiBob and working knowledge of ADP or comparable payroll and HR systems.
• A track record of building reward frameworks and career structures in environments where roles vary significantly across departments and production disciplines.
• Confidence working with senior stakeholders across business units in a globally distributed team.
• Experience leading people teams through periods of organisational change and studio growth.
