Cinematographer – Relocation to San Francisco
- Full Time
- Atlanta, Georgia, United States
Nen Creative
Nen Creative is hiring a full-time Cinematographer to join their team in San Francisco, California. This role sits at the center of camera, lighting, and grip operations across a commercial and brand film production slate, with additional responsibility for DaVinci Resolve project setup, color grading, and final deliverables. It suits a working DP who is equally comfortable on a polished commercial and a run-and-gun founder interview, and who treats post-production workflow as part of the job, not someone else’s problem.
About the Role
Nen Creative is a creative agency that works with tech startups, founders, and institutions on brand films, commercials, and campaign content. The Cinematographer will collaborate directly with directors and producers from visual development through final export, owning the image across a range of production types and budgets. On any given week, that might mean prepping a lighting package for a polished brand film, grading interview footage in DaVinci Resolve, or building a scrappy but sharp setup for a talking head shoot.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop the visual approach for each project in close collaboration with the director, from initial concept through on-set execution.
- Own camera, lighting, and grip setup across commercial production, brand films, interviews, and talking head shoots.
- Work within real budget constraints, making deliberate decisions about where production value gets spent and where it gets built creatively.
- Offload footage, build organized DaVinci Resolve projects with correct settings, and maintain a clean post-production workflow from shoot through delivery.
- Color grade projects and handle final exports from raw camera files as needed, meeting the quality bar for commercial-level deliverables.
- Adapt to shifting production schedules, occasional travel, and after-hours or weekend shoots as projects require.
What You Bring
- Prior cinematography experience across commercial production or brand film work, with a reel that reflects genuine craft attention.
- Strong technical foundation in camera systems, lenses, lighting, and grip, including working knowledge of how exposure index, glass characteristics, and coatings affect the image.
- Hands-on experience with DaVinci Resolve for project setup, color grading, and export workflows.
- A make-it-work approach to real-world budgets without compromising the image.
- Willingness to relocate to the San Francisco Bay Area and work on set three to four days per week.
- A valid driver’s license and access to a car.
Why This Role
Nen Creative has built a client roster that includes Amazon, SpaceX, and Andreessen Horowitz since launching in 2022, which means the work carries real visibility and the production slate moves quickly. The Cinematographer works directly with creative leadership on every project, not inside a large department where decisions get filtered through layers. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, a 401(k), PTO, company holidays, and a relocation stipend for candidates moving to the Bay Area.
