About the Role

The Grip works directly under the Key Grip as part of the camera support department on EUR productions shot in and around Rotterdam. Day-to-day work involves prepping and striking grip packages, building dolly track on varied locations, and coordinating with the Director of Photography to execute camera moves safely and on schedule. Productions at EUR span narrative film and episodic television formats, so the workload shifts between controlled studio setups and demanding location shoots.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up, maintain, and strike dolly track, dance floors, and crane rigs in accordance with the shot requirements issued by the Director of Photography.
• Operate the camera dolly smoothly during live takes, hitting marks consistently across multiple setups on episodic television and feature film production.
• Rig and de-rig camera support equipment safely on location, applying load calculations and appropriate rigging hardware at all times.
• Coordinate with the electric department to ensure grip and lighting rigs do not conflict during setup and that set is safe before the crew walks in.
• Manage grip expendables and flag consumable stock levels to the Key Grip before shortages affect the shooting schedule.
• Maintain and inspect all grip equipment daily, logging any damage or wear and escalating repairs before equipment leaves or returns to the truck.

What You Bring

• Minimum two years of on-set experience working as a Grip across feature film production, short-form content, or episodic television.
• Demonstrated ability to operate a camera dolly and build track on uneven or restricted locations without supervision.
• Familiarity with standard European grip package inventory including Euro-style dollies, cine saddles, and modular rigging systems.
• A valid driving licence suitable for production vehicle operation on location days.
• Working knowledge of on-set safety protocols applicable to the Dutch film and television production industry.
