About the Role

The Global Resource Strategy Director, VFX works within Pitch Black Creative’s group-wide production infrastructure, touching every studio in the network rather than a single facility or show. Day to day, this means consolidating demand signals from active VFX projects, working with Brand Resource Managers to reconcile crew availability against incoming briefs, and feeding actionable capacity data to Finance and production leadership. The role requires someone comfortable moving between granular scheduling detail and high-level strategic planning within the same working week.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the consolidated capacity view across all Pitch Black Creative studios, maintaining an accurate and current picture of VFX artist availability, skill sets, and workload across the group.
• Lead a team of Brand Resource Managers, setting standards for how capacity is tracked, reported, and translated into practical crew allocations across the VFX pipeline.
• Drive cross-studio resource sharing, identifying where talent can move between facilities or projects to improve utilisation without compromising delivery schedules.
• Partner with Finance to model crew deployment costs, assess the commercial impact of resourcing decisions, and support bids and greenlight processes with accurate headcount data.
• Align demand planning with production needs by working closely with VFX supervisors and producers to anticipate staffing requirements across both episodic television and feature film production.
• Identify and address structural capacity gaps, feeding into hiring plans and freelance strategies that keep studio throughput consistent across peak and trough periods.

What You Bring

• Significant experience in resource management or production operations within a VFX studio or post-production environment.
• A track record of managing capacity across multiple concurrent projects, ideally spanning both episodic television and feature film production.
• Proficiency with resource management and scheduling tools used in VFX production workflows.
• Experience managing or mentoring resource or production management staff across distributed teams.
• Strong working knowledge of how crew costs are structured in a VFX context, including the ability to interpret and contribute to commercial reporting.
