Key Responsibilities

• Build and deliver CFX setups for cloth, hair, and feathers using Houdini’s Vellum solver across multiple concurrent projects.
• Develop procedural CFX rigs that are scalable and structured for use by other artists within the VFX pipeline.
• Apply VEX scripting to extend and customise simulation behaviour beyond out-of-the-box solver settings.
• Work with muscle systems in Houdini 20.5 or H21 to support believable creature and character deformation.
• Troubleshoot simulation issues and resolve technical problems without pulling in senior oversight for every iteration.
• Support and guide other CFX artists on the project where needed, acting as a technical reference within the team.

What You Bring

• Five or more years working professionally in Houdini across feature film production, episodic television, or high-end commercial VFX.
• Strong working knowledge of the Vellum solver covering cloth, feather, and hair simulation.
• VEX proficiency at a level where you are writing or editing wrangles as a standard part of your workflow.
• Familiarity with muscle systems in Houdini 20.5 or H21 is a genuine advantage for this position.
• A track record of building CFX setups that are clean, documented, and transferable within a production team environment.
