Finance Director – Mikros Animation

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with the Mikros Animation President and production leadership to provide financial analysis that informs decisions on project greenlight, resource allocation, and production territory strategy.
• Lead the financial review of client proposals for animated feature film and episodic television projects, stress-testing budgetary assumptions and flagging margin or cash flow risks before deals close.
• Own the studio’s budget cycle and rolling forecasts, presenting monthly variance analysis and performance trends directly to management.
• Oversee accounting operations for Mikros Animation, ensuring compliance with applicable tax, legal, and regulatory obligations in the Canadian animation production context.
• Manage treasury operations and model short, medium, and long-term liquidity needs against the production slate pipeline.
• Work with Rodeo FX Group finance teams to align reporting standards, financial systems, and process improvements across the group’s studio entities.

What You Bring

• Significant experience in a senior finance role within animation, VFX production, or a project-driven creative studio environment.
• Demonstrated ability to support commercial bid processes and assess project profitability at the production level.
• Strong command of financial planning tools, forecasting models, and accounting systems relevant to a multi-project animation studio.
• Experience presenting financial results and recommendations to executive leadership and non-finance stakeholders.
• Familiarity with Canadian tax credit structures and compliance requirements affecting animation studio productions is a clear asset.
