CG Supervisor

About the Role

The CG Supervisor at Untold Studios works directly with VFX Supervisors, Creative Directors, and Heads of Department across a broad range of projects, stepping in early at the bidding stage and staying through delivery. Day to day, this means reviewing artist work, managing CG schedules alongside producers and coordinators, and maintaining a clean handover to the compositing team. This is a production-facing role as much as a technical one, requiring clear communication with both internal teams and clients throughout the VFX post-production workflow.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all CG execution on assigned shows, covering methodologies, scheduling, and the handover of finished CG elements to the Compositing Supervisor.
• Partner with VFX Supervisors and Creative Directors to align client expectations with what the CG team can realistically deliver on schedule.
• Work with Heads of CG departments and the pipeline team to ensure studio-approved methodologies are followed or thoughtfully extended for each project.
• Review artist output regularly throughout production and provide specific, actionable direction to maintain quality across the VFX pipeline.
• Mentor artists across the CG department, supporting their growth both within a project and as part of the longer-term development of the team.
• Represent Untold Studios at industry events and through publications or speaking opportunities as part of the studio’s broader outreach.

What You Bring

• A track record of supervising CG on multiple productions from pre-production through final delivery.
• Deep working knowledge of industry-standard CG and VFX software and the workflows that connect them across a modern post-production pipeline.
• Experience working across varied production types, whether feature film production, episodic television, or commercial VFX.
• The ability to manage schedules, set priorities across concurrent tasks, and work closely with production coordinators under real deadline pressure.
• Strong communication skills built from client-facing work on VFX productions alongside internal creative and technical teams.
