Job Position(s): Camera Operator
Project Type: Film & Television
Job Date: Full Time
Compensation: Paid - Salary

VERSANT is hiring a Camera Operator to join its CNBC and MS NOW news teams in Central London, England. This role sits within the broadcast news gathering department, responsible for operating cameras across live studio and field productions as well as long-form pre-recorded programming for both broadcast and digital platforms. It suits an experienced news photographer who is equally comfortable on a breaking news shoot as they are cutting a piece for social delivery.

About the Role

The Camera Operator works across two of VERSANT’s flagship news brands, CNBC and MS NOW, supporting output that spans live television, digital video, and social content production. A typical day might move from setting up a live remote feed with the International Master Control Room to editing a finished package in Adobe Premiere before the evening bulletin. The role demands someone who understands broadcast news workflow end to end, from acquisition through delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate professional broadcast cameras for live news programming and pre-recorded editorial content across television and digital platforms.
  • Set up and manage lighting rigs, location audio equipment, and intercom systems for studio and field productions.
  • Liaise directly with the International Master Control Room and Satellite Operations to establish and test remote live feeds and return intercom connections.
  • Edit broadcast-ready and digital-first video packages using Adobe Premiere, with file delivery managed through Signiant transfer workflows.
  • Configure and operate portable live-streaming devices for field news gathering, ensuring signal reliability under deadline pressure.
  • Work alongside News and Digital teams to ensure visual content meets platform-specific technical and editorial requirements across broadcast, web, and social.

What You Bring

  • Demonstrable experience as a Camera Operator in a broadcast news or live television production environment.
  • Hands-on proficiency with Adobe Premiere for news editing and Signiant for file transfer and delivery.
  • Proven credits across live news gathering, multi-camera studio production, or location-based broadcast journalism.
  • Technical competence with professional camera systems, portable lighting packages, and location sound equipment.
  • Ability to establish remote live feeds and work directly with master control or satellite operations teams.

Why This Role

VERSANT operates some of the most widely distributed news networks in the world, with CNBC reaching more than 392 million homes globally and MS NOW producing over 120 live hours of programming each week. For a Camera Operator looking to work at scale on high-profile live television and digital news production, the breadth of output here is hard to match in the London market. The Central London base puts this role at the centre of VERSANT’s European news gathering operation.

Apply now for the Camera Operator position at VERSANT and bring your broadcast news craft to one of the largest names in global television journalism.
