Job Position(s): Artist Management Intern, DreamWorks Animation, Fall 2026
Project Type: Feature Film
Job Date: Internship
Compensation: Paid Internship

DreamWorks Animation is hiring an Artist Management Intern for their Los Angeles studio for Fall 2026. This role sits within the Artist Management team, which oversees the Feature Production Departments at the studio and keeps artists and resources aligned across animated film and series productions. It suits a student or recent grad who wants hands-on exposure to production workflow at a major animation studio, not just coffee runs and inbox management.

About the Role

The Artist Management team functions as the operational backbone of DreamWorks’ feature animation pipeline, working directly with department coordinators and the VP of Artistic Resource Management to keep productions staffed and moving. As an intern, you are embedded in that structure, supporting multiple departments across active animated feature and series productions. Day to day involves administrative support that directly touches how artists are tracked, scheduled, and resourced across the studio floor.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day administrative support to assigned feature production departments within the DreamWorks Animation studio system.
  • Work alongside department coordinators to help manage artist schedules and resource tracking across active animated productions.
  • Support the VP of Artistic Resource Management with departmental logistics as productions move through their production cycles.
  • Maintain and update records using Google Suite tools including Sheets, Docs, and Gmail to support department-level communication and tracking.
  • Assist coordinators in managing information flow between departments in a structured, in-person production environment.
  • Participate in the DreamWorks Internship Program, which includes speaker series, career development workshops, and studio screenings tied to the animation industry.

What You Bring

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed an Associate, Bachelor, or Graduate degree, preferably in Film, Cinema, Communications, or Media Studies.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite, specifically Sheets, Docs, and Gmail, as used in production office environments.
  • Strong organizational habits and the ability to work independently within a structured animation studio setting.
  • Comfortable communicating clearly across all levels of a production organization, from coordinators to senior executives.
  • Ability to commit to the full 10-week program running September 28 through December 3, 2026, at 24 hours per week.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship, and able to provide your own housing and transportation in Los Angeles.

Why This Role

DreamWorks Animation is one of the few studios producing both animated features and episodic television at scale, which means this Artist Management Intern role gives you visibility into how large-format animation production is actually organized and resourced. The internship runs September 28 through December 3, 2026, in person Tuesday through Thursday, with applications closing June 29, 2026. Compensation is $17.87 per hour.
