Actor/Actress on PO8 Pirate Ship

Salty Sam’s Marina is hiring an Actor/Actress on PO8 Pirate Ship for their well-known pirate cruise attraction on Fort Myers Beach, FL. This role is a live performance position centered on scripted theatrical shows delivered aboard a working vessel to diverse audiences, including all-ages groups, adults-only crowds, and themed music cruise guests. It suits a performer with a background in theater, live entertainment, or experiential performance who is comfortable working a real production in front of a live audience every single show.

About the Role

The Actor/Actress on PO8 Pirate Ship performs as part of a rotating cast delivering 90-minute scripted shows tailored to each specific audience type, which means the material shifts depending on who is on board. This is live theatrical production work, not background or atmosphere work, and cast members are expected to carry scenes, engage directly with guests, and adapt performance energy in real time. On a typical day you will run multiple cruises, handle light deck duties, and contribute to the kind of audience experience that keeps a long-running live entertainment production in business.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform scripted theatrical roles aboard the pirate cruise ship, adjusting delivery to suit all-ages, adults-only, or live music themed show formats.
• Engage guests directly as part of the live performance, maintaining character throughout the full 90-minute show runtime.
• Support safe vessel operations during docking and departure, following crew protocols as part of the on-deck production team.
• Assist with crowd safety procedures during embarkation and disembarkation, acting as both performer and responsible crew member.
• Perform light cleaning and vessel upkeep between shows to maintain the production environment for back-to-back cruise schedules.
• Collaborate with fellow cast members to maintain consistent show quality across full-time, part-time, and seasonal performance rotations.

What You Bring

• Prior experience in live theater, themed entertainment, or audience-interactive performance is preferred.
• At least one year of customer service experience in a live or public-facing environment.
• Comfort working on the water; prior boat experience is a plus and on-the-job training is available.
• Must be 18 or older and able to pass a background check and drug screening.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Why This Role

Salty Sam’s Pirate Cruise is a Fort Myers Beach institution with a consistent production schedule that gives performers real stage time across multiple show formats, which is rare in regional live entertainment. Pay runs $15.00 to $17.00 per hour based on experience, plus tips, with full and part-time schedules available between 20 and 40 hours per week. Benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, employee discounts, and a flexible schedule suited to performers balancing other theater or production commitments.
