Job Type
Spectrum.Life is hiring a Video Editor and Studio Assistant for a six-month fixed-term contract based in Manchester. This role sits within the content production team, covering the full post-production workflow from rough cut to final delivery on studio-recorded health and wellbeing video content. It suits an editor with hands-on studio operation experience who is comfortable owning both the technical and editorial sides of a production day.
About the Role
The content production team at Spectrum.Life creates video for a large user base spanning insurance members, corporate clients and university students, so consistency and turnaround discipline are central to the job. On any given day you might be rigging the studio for a presenter session in the morning and cutting a finished piece in the afternoon. The team is stretched, the brief is clear, and the role exists to protect delivery and keep standards high across a volume output environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Edit studio-recorded footage from rough cut to final delivery, handling trimming, colour correction, sound mixing, captions and subtitles within an organised post-production workflow.
- Create motion graphics and on-screen elements to brand specification, using tools such as After Effects where required.
- Set up and operate studio cameras, lighting rigs and audio equipment for scheduled recording sessions.
- Manage project file structure, footage labelling and backup so that assets remain accessible and version control stays clean across the team.
- Work directly with producers and presenters to interpret briefs, manage feedback rounds and hit agreed turnaround deadlines without compromising output quality.
- Flag technical or workflow issues early and bring practical solutions rather than just problems.
What You Bring
- A minimum of three years of professional video editing experience in a corporate, media or broadcast content environment.
- Strong working knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro as your primary editing platform.
- Proven experience operating studio camera, audio and lighting set-ups, not just in post but on recording days.
- Familiarity with accessibility standards for video content, including captioning workflows.
- The organisational ability to carry multiple deadlines without letting quality slip on any one of them.
Why This Role
Spectrum.Life operates at genuine scale, serving over 7.2 million insurance members and 650,000 university students, which means the content you deliver reaches a large and varied audience. The contract is full-time for six months with a review at term end, and the position is studio-based in Manchester with hybrid flexibility where the production schedule allows. For an editor looking for a stable block of work with clear scope and a real output target, this is a well-defined engagement.
Apply now for the Video Editor and Studio Assistant position at Spectrum.Life and join a production team where your work has a direct and measurable impact.
