The role suits early-to-mid career screen actors building their short film credits and looking for a supported set experience with professional catering and craft services.

About the Role

A Certain Future is a short film production operating under Vancouver Actors Guide, one of the longest-standing free resources for the Vancouver acting community. Actors will work across principal or supporting roles depending on casting, contributing to scripted narrative scenes in what is a clean, safe production without stunts or weapons. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform scripted roles across principal or supporting narrative scenes as assigned during the short film shoot.
  • Prepare character work prior to set days, including script analysis and any direction provided at callbacks.
  • Take direction from the director and respond to adjustments between takes in a professional and efficient manner.
  • Maintain continuity of performance across multiple takes to support the editorial and post-production workflow.

  • Represent the preferred role submitted during audition with clarity and intention throughout the casting and production process.

What You Bring

  • On-camera acting experience, whether through short film production, student films, or independent narrative projects.
  • A current headshot, resume, and demo reel that reflect recent screen work.
  • The ability to self-direct preparation and arrive to set with material ready without extensive rehearsal time built into the schedule.
  • Familiarity with the callback and audition process standard to Vancouver’s independent film community.
  • A clear preference for a specific role, submitted as part of your initial application package.
