About the Role

The 2D Storyboard Artist works directly with Directors and Supervisors on a preschool animated series developed in partnership with a prominent YouTube content creator, set for launch this fall. Your day-to-day involves boarding scenes across a range of tones, from broad physical comedy to quieter emotional beats, while staying consistent with the production’s design language and meeting scheduled delivery rounds. This is a production-integrated role with regular dailies, revision passes, and close communication with the broader animation studio team.

Key Responsibilities

• Create 2D animation storyboards from script, establishing staging, camera choices, character poses, and panel-to-panel continuity appropriate for a preschool audience.
• Board scenes across multiple scene types including slapstick comedy, pantomime, dialogue performance, chase sequences, and emotional story beats.
• Incorporate notes from Directors, Supervisors, and leads across revision rounds, adjusting boarding approach while maintaining overall sequence integrity.
• Participate in dailies and creative discussions, contributing observations on pacing, composition, and character acting to improve the work collectively.
• Follow the production’s pipeline workflows and technical requirements so boards integrate without friction into downstream animation production stages.
• Track your own progress against the production schedule and communicate clearly with production staff when timelines or challenges need flagging.

What You Bring

• Previous credits as a Storyboard Artist or Storyboard Revisionist on a 2D animated series, feature, or comparable episodic television pipeline.
• A portfolio showing storyboard work across action, comedy, and dialogue-driven scenes with clear staging, readable silhouettes, and strong pacing.
• Working knowledge of Storyboard Pro or a comparable professional digital boarding workflow.
• Demonstrated ability to adapt boarding style to different scene demands and match a production’s established visual and tonal language.
• Clear verbal and written communication skills suited to a collaborative studio environment with active revision cycles.
