Job Position(s): ★ Senior Video Editor — Storytelling & Brand Content
Project Type: Commercial
Job Date: Full Time
Compensation: $60000 - $72000/year

NexGenT is hiring a Senior Video Editor based in Oregon, United States, with the position open to remote candidates worldwide. This role sits at the center of post-production, owning the full editorial pipeline from raw interview footage through final delivery across YouTube documentaries, brand films, ad campaigns, and social content. It suits an editor with a genuine background in documentary and brand storytelling who treats the assembly as the starting point, not the finish line.

About the Role

The Senior Video Editor works within NexGenT’s content and marketing production workflow, cutting student success stories, testimonial films, and long-form brand documentaries that reach hundreds of thousands of viewers each year. A typical day moves between shaping rough cuts from hours of interview footage, working through feedback with marketers and producers, and refining sound design, motion graphics, and color to lift the final cut. This is an end-to-end post-production role, not a finishing or assembly position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cut long-form interview and documentary footage into clear, emotionally driven narratives that move audiences toward action.
  • Build and manage an organized post-production workflow across multiple concurrent projects, maintaining consistency from rough cut through final delivery.
  • Shape pacing, visual rhythm, and narrative structure across YouTube documentaries, brand films, and short-form social edits.
  • Integrate music, sound design, typography, and color grading to raise the craft level of every project without overwhelming the story.
  • Apply AI-assisted creative tools where appropriate while preserving the authenticity that makes documentary storytelling land.
  • Collaborate directly with producers, marketers, and educators throughout the editorial process, incorporating notes without losing the thread of the story.

What You Bring

  • Five or more years of professional editing experience with a portfolio built on storytelling and cinematic editing across documentary or brand content.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro with a strong command of post-production workflow and project organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to cut interview-driven content into compelling, emotionally coherent narratives.
  • Bonus experience in After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, color grading, sound design, Frame.io workflows, or YouTube content strategy.

Why This Role

NexGenT, backed by Y Combinator and rated five stars by over 800 Trustpilot reviewers, produces content that directly drives enrollment for people retraining for careers in tech. This Senior Video Editor position is a fully remote, full-time contract with a compensation range of $60,000 to $72,000 USD per year ($5,000 to $6,000 per month). The editorial mandate here is clear: story before spectacle, craft before speed.
