Job Type
The Walt Disney Company is hiring an Intern Studio Marketing based in Munich, Germany, starting January 2027 for a six-month placement. This role sits inside Disney’s studio marketing department, where the team manages theatrical release campaigns from initial concept through to opening weekend, covering everything from campaign localization to event-based promotions. It suits a marketing or media management student who wants hands-on experience inside a major studio’s theatrical distribution and marketing operation.
About the Role
The internship runs within Disney’s EMEA studio marketing team in Munich, contributing directly to the theatrical release pipeline for Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and other Disney-distributed titles in the German market. Day-to-day work spans campaign material development, partner coordination, and market research tied to live release schedules. The team works four days per week from the Munich office, with one remote day available on Mondays or Fridays.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the rollout of theatrical film releases by attending team meetings, creative workshops, and campaign strategy sessions tied to specific title launches.
- Assist in the localization and cross-platform adaptation of campaign materials including trailers, key art, and promotional assets for the German market.
- Help coordinate local screenings, cinema promotions, and special theatrical activations tied to film release dates.
- Take ownership of smaller standalone projects, including direct collaboration with external agencies and promotional partners.
- Conduct market and competitor research to feed into campaign strategy, and prepare analysis and presentation materials for the wider team.
- Handle day-to-day operational support including maintaining online asset databases and preparing internal presentations.
What You Bring
- Current enrollment in a degree program in marketing, media management, communications, or business with a marketing focus.
- Genuine interest in the film industry, theatrical distribution, and entertainment marketing.
- Strong written and spoken German and English, with the ability to work across both languages in a professional setting.
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks while managing multiple priorities across a live release calendar.
- Comfort with presentation tools and familiarity with online asset management platforms.
Why This Role
Disney’s EMEA theatrical marketing operation covers one of the highest-volume studio release slates in the industry, meaning this internship runs alongside real campaigns on major titles rather than internal training exercises. Munich is the base for Disney’s German-speaking market operations, giving direct exposure to how a global entertainment studio adapts its release strategy at a local level. The six-month duration from January 2027 provides enough runway to see multiple titles through their full campaign arc.
