- New York, New York, USA
Kit (Formerly ConvertKit)

Job Type
Kit, formerly ConvertKit, is hiring a Video Editor on a part-time contract basis out of New York, New York. This role sits inside Kit’s content marketing team, producing short-form social cuts, creator interview edits, product tutorials, and polished on-demand webinar videos across organic and paid channels. It suits an editor with a videography background who is equally comfortable pulling a short Reel from a 60-minute interview as they are setting up a shot on a studio day.
About the Role
Kit’s content team is producing at a volume that requires a dedicated editor who can move between filming and post-production workflow without losing momentum. On any given week, that might mean cutting talking-head footage into paid ad creative, filming a creator interview in studio, or slicing a webinar recording into 2 to 5 minute mini-course lessons for YouTube. You will work directly from raw footage and briefs, reporting to the Content Marketing Team Lead and collaborating with social, creator education, and growth marketing leads.
Key Responsibilities
- Cut organic social video content including Reels, talking-head clips, product demos, and UGC for distribution across short-form platforms.
- Edit long-form creator interviews and case study videos for YouTube, applying consistent pacing, audio cleanup, and caption standards throughout.
- Turn webinar recordings and interview footage into polished on-demand videos and episodic mini-course segments.
- Produce paid ad social cutdowns in partnership with the growth marketing lead, repurposing existing long-form footage into performance-ready creative.
- Film on set and in studio for original Kit productions, including creator interviews and brand content, with comfort across both run-and-gun and controlled set environments.
- Apply brand guidelines consistently across a high volume of deliverables, covering typography, color, composition, and motion, in close coordination with the in-house brand team.
What You Bring
- 4 or more years editing social-first video content for a brand, creator, or agency, with a portfolio that shows both short-form and long-form work.
- Strong command of Adobe Premiere Pro, with working familiarity across tools like CapCut, Opus Clip, or Descript.
- Demonstrated experience in post-production workflow for talking-head and interview formats, including pacing, audio, and caption work that holds up without revision rounds.
- Videography experience that covers both event or set filming and more controlled studio production.
- An eye for design fundamentals including hierarchy, composition, and visual storytelling as they apply to video editing.
- Experience working with or editing content featuring creators is a plus.
Why This Role
Kit is a fully independent, fully remote company with a content operation that is genuinely scaling, which means the video editor they bring on will have consistent output and real creative ownership rather than a one-off project queue. The team is structured enough to give clear briefs but hands-off enough that your editorial instincts will actually shape the work.
If your background spans social video production and you are looking for steady contract work with a brand that creators actually use, apply for the Video Editor position at Kit today.
