Job Position(s): Video Shooter / Editor
Project Type: Commercial
Job Date: Full Time
Compensation: Paid - Salary

Pack is hiring a full-time Video Shooter / Editor based out of Mundelein, Illinois. This role sits at the center of a boutique video production workflow, covering everything from field acquisition to picture lock across branded content and commercial work for agencies, businesses, and direct clients. It suits a working shooter-editor with a real reel, not someone building one.

About the Role

Pack Films operates as a small production company serving a growing client base across marketing and brand video production, which means the person in this seat owns projects from planning through delivery. A typical day might move between a commercial shoot in the morning and an edit session in the afternoon, with client communication threaded throughout. This is not a junior position, and the expectation is that you arrive with a production workflow already dialed in.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute cinematic video shoots for clients ranging from small businesses to large brands, handling all camera and lighting decisions on set.
  • Edit projects from raw footage through final delivery, building strong story structure and maintaining frame-level attention to detail throughout post-production workflow.
  • Incorporate motion graphics and title work into edits using Adobe After Effects and related tools in the Adobe Suite.
  • Manage client relationships through the full production cycle, including feedback rounds, revision notes, and timeline communication.
  • Coordinate pre-production logistics on each project, including shot planning, scheduling, and client alignment before cameras roll.
  • Balance multiple projects across different stages of branded content production at the same time, without dropping the ball on delivery dates.

What You Bring

  • Five or more years of professional experience as a shooter and editor in commercial or branded video production.
  • A portfolio of specific, creditable work with your individual contribution to each project clearly documented.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Premiere and After Effects, with working knowledge of the broader Adobe Suite and any other relevant production software.
  • Demonstrated ability to cut story-driven edits, not just assemble footage.
  • Professional client communication skills, including written feedback responses and timeline management.

Why This Role

Pack Films is a boutique shop, which means the Video Shooter / Editor in this seat has real ownership over the work and a direct line to leadership as the company grows, including a stated path toward a leadership role as the team expands. The compensation package includes PTO, parental leave, a healthcare stipend, and profit sharing, with pay determined by portfolio and experience. For a shooter-editor who wants to grow with a company rather than clock in at a larger production house, this is a position worth a close look.

Apply for the Video Shooter / Editor role at Pack and submit your portfolio with specific samples and noted contributions alongside your resume and cover letter.
