Day-to-day, this means managing a commissioning pipeline, working directly with agents, producers, and talent, and acting as an executive producer across titles in production. The role connects creative development with cross-functional delivery across content programming, production, marketing, legal, and finance.

Key Responsibilities

• Source and develop original non-fiction content opportunities by maintaining active relationships with agents, independent producers, IP owners, and on-screen and on-mic talent.
• Manage individual titles from submission through greenlight, applying editorial judgment against both creative standards and strategic commissioning goals.
• Act as executive producer across commissioned originals, providing script editing notes, guiding talent selection, and conducting post-production audio reviews on both in-house and third-party projects.
• Collaborate with legal and finance teams on contract terms and budget development for commissioned works.
• Maintain commissioning roadmaps and slate planning schedules, keeping stakeholders across content programming and acquisitions aligned throughout the production cycle.
• Feed original content strategy using audience data, genre trend research, and marketplace analysis to sharpen commissioning decisions across the non-fiction slate.

What You Bring

• Proven experience in content development or commissioning, ideally across non-fiction audio, podcast production, documentary series, or episodic television.
• A track record of taking original projects from development through to delivery, with credits across limited series or serialised formats.
• Established relationships within the UK talent and production community, including agents, indie producers, and on-air talent.
• Working knowledge of production budgeting and contract negotiation as part of a commissioning or development workflow.
• Strong editorial skills with experience providing script notes or story development feedback at a professional level.
