Project: Photography

Vancouver Actors Guide is hiring male models for a photography project based in Vancouver, BC. This role sits within a still photography production context, generating images that serve as portfolio content, promotional material, and reference shoots for the acting and modelling community. It suits performers and models who are comfortable in front of camera and looking to build or expand their still photography credits.

About the Role

Vancouver Actors Guide runs ongoing photography projects that support the broader Vancouver acting community, producing visual content used across casting, promotional, and editorial workflows. Models on this project work directly with a photographer in a studio or location setting, contributing to shoots that may be used in comp cards, portfolios, and modelling profiles. A typical session involves structured posing direction, both solo and paired with another male model.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute directed poses for still photography production, including bare-chested setups as required by the shoot brief.
• Participate in close physical posing alongside another male model, following direction from the photographer throughout the session.
• Maintain consistent energy and expression across multiple setups to support efficient studio photography workflow.
• Arrive with a current headshot and full-body photo ready for the production team’s reference.
• Communicate general availability clearly to allow scheduling across the project’s photography sessions.
• Contribute to couple or paired shots if applying alongside a partner, providing a joint reference image at submission.

What You Bring

• Prior professional modelling experience is an asset but is not required for this photography project.
• Comfort with bare-chested posing and close physical posing with another male model in a professional photography setting.
• A current headshot and full-body photo, with a portfolio, Instagram, comp card, or modelling profile welcomed as supplementary material.
• Clear communication of your age and general availability for scheduling purposes.
• Willingness to re-apply if you have submitted for a previous Vancouver Actors Guide project.

Why This Role

Vancouver Actors Guide is one of the longest-running free resources for the Vancouver acting community, giving models access to a well-connected production network. This photography project pays $26 per hour, offering fair compensation for still photography work at a time when quality portfolio content carries real career value. For models building credits in the Vancouver market, this is a straightforward way to add professionally produced images to a comp card or casting profile.
