Job Position(s): Video Editor (GFX & Colour)
Project Type: TV Series
Job Date: Full Time
Compensation: Paid - Salary

ProductionBase is hiring a Video Editor (GFX & Colour) based in London, Ontario, Canada. This role sits within the post-production workflow of an award-winning children’s entertainment company, where the editor is responsible for assembling cuts, building motion graphics, and delivering colour-graded content for kids’ programming. It suits a mid-level post professional with a strong eye for colour and experience working across episodic television or branded content pipelines.

About the Role

The Video Editor (GFX & Colour) works within the post department on children’s media productions, contributing to projects from rough cut through to final delivery. A typical day moves between timeline editing, motion graphics creation, and colour correction sessions, often across multiple episodes or short-form pieces in parallel. The role requires someone comfortable managing their own workload within a structured post-production pipeline without heavy supervision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Edit picture cuts for episodic television content, working to locked scripts and producer notes across multiple stages of the post process.
  • Design and animate motion graphics and lower thirds that align with established series style guides and brand standards.
  • Perform primary and secondary colour correction and grading to ensure consistency across episodes and compliance with broadcast delivery specs.
  • Prepare and export deliverables to required broadcast and digital platform specifications, including versioning for different markets.
  • Manage project media organisation, bin structure, and archiving within the post-production workflow to maintain clean project handoffs.
  • Respond to rounds of notes from producers and directors, turning revisions efficiently within scheduled post timelines.

What You Bring

  • Minimum three years of professional editing experience in episodic television, animation studio, or children’s content production.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects, with a working knowledge of DaVinci Resolve for colour work.
  • Demonstrated experience with motion graphics creation, not just template adaptation, within a broadcast post environment.
  • Solid understanding of colour science, LUTs, and broadcast safe delivery requirements for both linear and digital platforms.
  • A portfolio or reel that includes graded and graphics-heavy work from produced television or long-form content.

Why This Role

ProductionBase operates as part of a global kids’ entertainment group with a recognised production slate and international distribution, which means the work reaches real audiences at scale. For an editor looking to deepen their grading and graphics credits within episodic children’s television, this role offers consistent project volume and proximity to a full post-production team. The London, Ontario, Canada location places you within a growing regional production community with strong ties to the broader Canadian screen industry.
