Job Position(s): Sports Videographer & Content Storyteller
Project Type: Commercial
Job Date: Full Time
Compensation: Paid - Salary

Barnsley Football Club is hiring a Sports Videographer and Content Storyteller based in London, England. This role sits within the club’s Media and Communications department, producing original video content across social media platforms, the club website, and app, covering men’s, academy, and women’s teams as well as commercial output. It suits a camera operator and editor who understands sports content production and knows how to build a narrative from match day footage through to finished short-form delivery.

About the Role

The Media and Communications team handles all video production workflow from capture through to publication, and this person is central to that pipeline. Day to day involves attending fixtures to shoot live action, returning to edit original and archived material, and managing the club’s YouTube and TikTok channels as primary distribution platforms. The volume and variety of output means you are moving between sports videography, social video production, and channel management on a regular basis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Attend men’s, academy, and women’s fixtures to capture match day footage for use across digital platforms and club broadcast output.
  • Edit original footage and archived material into finished pieces suited to web, app, and short-form social video production formats.
  • Manage the club’s YouTube channel, including upload scheduling, metadata, and maintaining consistency across the content library.
  • Produce and oversee TikTok content, adapting match day and training footage into platform-native formats that perform in algorithmic feeds.
  • Collaborate with commercial departments to produce video assets that serve sponsorship, partnership, and club marketing briefs.
  • Maintain a consistent visual and editorial standard across all output, from reactive social clips to longer-form storytelling pieces.

What You Bring

  • Proven experience as a videographer and editor in a sports, broadcast, or digital content production environment.
  • Proficiency in professional editing software, with a working knowledge of colour grading and audio mixing in post-production workflow.
  • Demonstrated ability to shoot in live sports environments, including low-light stadium conditions and fast-moving subjects.
  • A portfolio showing short-form social video production credits across platforms including TikTok and YouTube.
  • Comfort working across multiple teams and deadlines without a fixed production schedule.

Why This Role

Barnsley Football Club produces content across three competitive squads, which gives this role genuine breadth across sports videography rather than a narrow single-team brief. The Media and Communications team operates with real editorial independence, and the scope of the YouTube and TikTok channels means your work reaches a substantial existing audience from day one. For a videographer building credits in sports content production, this is a staff role with consistent output rather than a short contract.

Apply now for the Sports Videographer and Content Storyteller role at Barnsley Football Club and bring your production experience to a team with real output demands.
