Monks is hiring a Video Editor based in Amsterdam, NY, to join its EMEA Content Studio. This role sits firmly in post-production, where the editor takes raw footage and AI-generated material through to finished, client-ready deliverables across a broad portfolio of brand and commercial projects. It suits an experienced editor who is comfortable working within an agency post-production workflow and has a genuine interest in where AI tooling is taking the craft.

About the Role

The Video Editor works inside Monks’ content studio alongside Directors, Producers, and Creatives, cutting story-driven edits and motion graphics work for a diverse client roster. Projects span brand films, commercial content, and platform-specific assets, so familiarity with delivery specifications across multiple channels is part of the day-to-day. A typical day moves between timeline assembly, After Effects animation, sound selection, and close communication with the broader production team to hit scheduled delivery windows.

Key Responsibilities

• Cut story-driven edits in Adobe Premiere Pro, shaping pacing and structure from script interpretation through to final picture lock.
• Build motion graphics and composite sequences in Adobe After Effects to meet brand and platform specifications on each deliverable.
• Integrate AI-generated video and graphical elements into traditional editorial timelines, maintaining consistent visual standards throughout.
• Apply sound design sensibility during the edit, selecting and placing audio elements that support the narrative and tone of each piece.
• Manage your own post-production schedule in coordination with operations and production teams to meet client deadlines.
• Work with Directors and Creatives to interpret briefs and translate them into finished assets that serve the client’s creative vision.

What You Bring

• Four or more years of professional editing experience, with a portfolio that demonstrates clear visual storytelling and strong production technique.
• Advanced working knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro and solid practical experience with Adobe After Effects for motion graphics work.
• Fluency in both Dutch and English, spoken and written.
• A background in Film and Media Studies or equivalent hands-on production experience.
• Experience with DaVinci Resolve for colour grading and finishing is a plus, as is practical knowledge of AI-assisted editing and automated post-production workflows.
