Job Position(s): VFX Production Manager
Project Type: VFX Production
Job Date: Full Time
Compensation: Paid - Salary

PFX is hiring a VFX Production Manager based in Prague to join their production team. This role sits at the operational center of the VFX pipeline, responsible for driving high-end visual effects projects from initial planning through final delivery, keeping schedules, budgets, and cross-functional teams aligned throughout. It suits a production professional with a background in post-production or VFX who knows how to manage competing priorities without losing sight of the creative output.

About the Role

The VFX Production Manager at PFX works directly alongside artists, supervisors, and clients to maintain production flow across active VFX projects. Day to day, this means running status meetings, tracking shot progress in project management tools, and coordinating between internal departments and external vendors to keep deliveries on schedule. The role requires someone comfortable operating inside a live post-production workflow where priorities shift and problem-solving is part of the job.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and manage the full lifecycle of VFX projects from brief through final delivery, ensuring each phase hits schedule and budget targets.
  • Track shot and task progress across the VFX pipeline using tools such as Ftrack, ShotGrid, and Excel, flagging risks before they become delays.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between clients, internal production teams, and vendors to ensure clear communication and consistent project delivery.
  • Organize and lead daily status calls, review sessions, and progress evaluations to keep artists and supervisors aligned on priorities.
  • Identify production bottlenecks and implement process improvements that reduce friction across the post-production workflow.
  • Support artists and supervisors through technical and creative challenges that arise during active production, helping the team maintain momentum.

What You Bring

  • Proven experience in production management within a VFX studio, animation facility, or post-production environment.
  • Hands-on working knowledge of industry-standard project management tools including Ftrack, ShotGrid, and Excel.
  • A track record of managing schedules and budgets across multiple concurrent VFX projects.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills suited to coordinating across creative, technical, and client-facing stakeholders.
  • Advanced English, both spoken and written, required for client and vendor communication.

Why This Role

PFX is an established VFX studio operating out of Prague, with a production team working on high-end projects that demand both creative precision and production discipline. The VFX Production Manager position offers direct involvement in the full post-production workflow rather than a narrow slice of it, which makes it a meaningful step for anyone looking to grow their production management experience inside a serious VFX environment. Prague is a well-developed hub for European VFX and post-production work, and PFX sits within that ecosystem.
