About the Role

The Social-First Video Editor & Creator works directly on Futureheads Recruitment’s brand content, shaping how the company appears across social platforms through original, platform-native video. Day to day, this means shooting your own footage, editing for vertical and square formats, and applying light motion design to lift the final clips. The role carries real creative ownership, including guiding the overall direction of social video output rather than simply executing briefs handed down from elsewhere.

Key Responsibilities

• Edit short-form video content optimised for organic social distribution across TikTok, Instagram Reels, LinkedIn video, and YouTube Shorts.
• Self-shoot on-camera content, including presenter-led pieces, capturing usable footage that fits each platform’s native look and feel.
• Apply basic motion design and graphic treatments to finished edits, keeping work within brand guidelines without leaning on a separate design resource.
• Guide the creative direction of social video projects from brief through to published post, making editorial calls on pacing, format, and tone.
• Maintain consistency across the social video pipeline, managing multiple short-form deliverables at different stages of production simultaneously.
• Review platform performance and apply those insights to editorial decisions on future cuts, treating the feed as a feedback loop rather than a one-way output.

What You Bring

• Proven editing credits across organic social video, with a portfolio that demonstrates platform-specific thinking rather than repurposed broadcast content.
• Hands-on experience with professional editing software, Adobe Premiere Pro or a comparable NLE, alongside basic After Effects or motion graphics capability.
• Comfort on camera as a presenter or contributor, with the technical confidence to self-shoot and self-direct without a crew.
• A working understanding of social storytelling conventions, including hook structure, caption pacing, and format differences between platforms.
