About the Role

Day to day, you are working directly with directors and creative leadership to establish staging, composition, and camera movement across shots, while also partnering with tech and production teams to build and document the hybrid workflows that make this kind of animation pipeline function. The role carries real departmental ownership, including team mentorship, pipeline forecasting, and feeding back upward to improve how the broader production scales.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and execute the show’s full camera language, including lens choices, camera positions, and movement, in close collaboration with the director to serve the narrative at every stage of the animation pipeline.
• Direct character staging and layout choreography to maintain visual clarity, emotional continuity, and narrative flow across sequences.
• Partner with technical and production teams to test, refine, and document hybrid workflows that bridge 2D and 3D integration alongside GenAI tools.
• Forecast pipeline needs and identify bottlenecks before they affect delivery schedules, coordinating with production leadership to keep the project on track.
• Build templates, scripts, and workflow documentation that capture crew learnings and create repeatable systems for future productions.
• Lead the layout team’s technical training, ensuring artists are proficient across both traditional previs and CG shot production tools and the new GenAI-integrated tools being developed for this pipeline.

What You Bring

• Minimum seven years of experience in film, television, or games, with at least four years in a layout or previs supervisory role.
• Credits demonstrating layout or previsualization work on feature films, shorts, or episodic television.
• Advanced working knowledge of CG software including Autodesk Maya, Houdini, or Nuke.
• Familiarity with Python or MEL scripting, and a genuine hands-on interest in generative AI imagery and video tools.
• Proven ability to manage production budgets and deliver work on schedule within a structured sprint environment.
