Job Position(s): VFX Supervisor - On-Site, Toronto
Project Type: Feature Film
Job Date: Full Time
Compensation: Paid - Salary

Mikros Animation is hiring a VFX Supervisor to join its Toronto studio on a full-time, on-site basis. This role sits at the creative and technical center of VFX production, overseeing the end-to-end execution of visual effects work across high-end feature film and premium episodic projects. It suits a senior supervisor with a strong track record on large-scale productions who wants to lead both the work and the team culture behind it.

About the Role

The VFX Supervisor at Mikros Animation works across the full production lifecycle, from bidding and planning through shot reviews, client presentations, and final delivery. Day-to-day, that means running dailies, giving hands-on feedback to artists and supervisors on the floor, managing client relationships, and keeping creative execution aligned with budget and schedule. The studio is open to candidates relocating to Toronto, provided they are committed to working from the studio full-time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the creative and technical strategy across assigned VFX projects, ensuring the client’s vision is carried consistently through every stage of the VFX pipeline.
  • Conduct in-person shot reviews and turnovers with artists daily, providing specific, actionable feedback that keeps quality standards and production momentum on track.
  • Work alongside the VFX Producer to build production schedules, define resource needs, and contribute to bids during the project planning phase.
  • Attend set during filming of VFX sequences as required, acting as the on-set authority for visual effects methodology and data capture.
  • Monitor project budgets regularly with the VFX Producer, flagging variances early and identifying practical solutions to protect delivery timelines.
  • Mentor supervisors and artists to build problem-solving habits and a strong collaborative floor culture across the Toronto studio.

What You Bring

  • Significant experience as a VFX Supervisor on feature film productions and/or premium episodic television, with credits that demonstrate end-to-end ownership of complex sequences.
  • Deep familiarity with modern VFX pipelines, including compositing, CG, and on-set supervision workflows.
  • A track record of managing client relationships directly, including presenting work, communicating creative direction, and resolving challenges under production pressure.
  • Experience contributing to bid processes and project scoping alongside producers.
  • Willingness to be based in Toronto and present in the studio full-time.

Why This Role

Mikros Animation has a strong presence in feature film and animation production, with a studio culture built around craft and mentorship rather than pure throughput. This VFX Supervisor position carries genuine creative authority over the projects it touches and real influence over how the Toronto team develops. For a senior supervisor looking to lead at the studio level, not just the project level, the scope here is substantive.

Apply now for the VFX Supervisor role at Mikros Animation and bring your feature and episodic experience to one of Toronto’s established visual effects studios.
