Rodeo FX is hiring a Senior VFX Producer on a permanent basis in Montreal. This role sits at the centre of VFX production, owning the budget and schedule from bid through delivery across multiple concurrent projects. It suits a producer with real post-production workflow experience who knows how to hold a project together when client changes and creative pivots hit at the same time.

About the Role

The Senior VFX Producer at Rodeo FX works directly alongside VFX Supervisors and department heads to build and execute production plans on feature film and episodic television projects. Day to day, this means tracking budgets in Shotgun, managing overtime approvals, fielding client communications, and making sure the right talent is assigned to the right shots at the right time. It is a senior position with direct reports, including junior producers who require mentorship and regular performance feedback.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with the VFX Supervisor and the business development team to cost and prepare bids for incoming projects, ensuring estimates reflect realistic VFX pipeline requirements.
• Own the project schedule from kickoff through final delivery, setting milestones with supervisors and keeping Shotgun current so every department has accurate, up-to-date information.
• Manage client relationships throughout production, communicating progress updates and turning around change requests with revised bids and adjusted timelines.
• Track project budgets at a granular level, flagging variances early and preparing budget reports that give leadership a clear picture of each project’s financial position.
• Assign key talent across projects in coordination with department heads, balancing experience levels against the specific demands of each show.
• Run mid-production reviews and post-mortems, identifying process gaps and driving continuous improvement across the production team.

What You Bring

• Several years of experience producing VFX at a senior level within a visual effects studio or post-production facility.
• Hands-on experience managing Shotgun as a production tracking tool across multi-department VFX projects.
• A track record producing on feature film or high-end episodic television, with credits that reflect full-cycle project ownership.
• Demonstrated ability to manage, mentor, and evaluate a production team, including handling performance reviews and compensation recommendations.
• Strong client-facing experience with the ability to negotiate scope changes while protecting both budget and schedule.
