Job Position(s): Production Manager
Project Type: Feature Film
Job Date: Full Time
Compensation: $95,000 - $141,000/year

Netflix is hiring a Production Manager for a new animated feature film, based out of Vancouver, BC. This role sits at the center of the production management structure, owning the master schedule, quota tracking, crew planning, and cross-departmental reporting from pre-production through delivery. It is a strong fit for a senior production professional with deep roots in feature animation or VFX pipeline environments who is comfortable leading teams as much as managing timelines.

About the Role

This position is part of Netflix Animation Studios, which operates across three global studio locations and is actively building out its feature film slate. The Production Manager works directly alongside Producers, Heads of Department, and Craft Supervisors to keep a large-scale animated feature on schedule and on budget. A typical day involves tracking asset and shot priorities, flagging schedule variances, supporting production supervisors and coordinators, and keeping communication clear across departments and sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain the master production schedule for a feature animation project, integrating individual departmental schedules into a single coherent plan.
  • Monitor shot and asset priorities across the animation pipeline, identifying schedule risks early and working with department heads on practical solutions.
  • Oversee all project tracking and reporting, including quota projections and ad hoc reports requested by Producers or studio leadership.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a production team that includes Production Supervisors, Coordinators, and Assistants, maintaining clear accountability across the group.
  • Partner with Producers and Artist Management on crew planning, overtime decisions, and leave coverage throughout the production cycle.
  • Facilitate cross-department and cross-site communication, ensuring that priorities, milestones, and deadlines are understood by all teams involved.

What You Bring

  • 7 or more years of production experience on large-scale animation or VFX projects, including at least 2 years in a Production Manager or equivalent senior role.
  • Senior production credits on a minimum of two feature animation or VFX productions.
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Flow Production Tracking, which is listed as an essential requirement for this role.
  • Demonstrated experience managing and mentoring large production teams across multiple departments.
  • Strong analytical skills and a thorough understanding of feature animation pipelines and post-production workflows.

Why This Role

Netflix Animation Studios is one of the few studios currently building original animated features at scale, with infrastructure and resources that most animation studios cannot match. This Production Manager role offers direct involvement in a major feature production from the ground up, with real leadership scope across the full production management team. The overall compensation range for this position is $95,000 to $141,000 CAD, reflecting total compensation with no bonus structure, and the benefits package includes medical, dental, vision, mental health support, retirement programs, and paid leave.
