Job Summary

Rainbow Productions are one of the world’s leading provider of costume character mascots for numerous industries including Film, Licensing and Sports. Currently we exclusively manufacture bespoke costume characters in our busy workshops in SW19 and we have an additional brand new purposely designed production facility opening in Farnham, Surrey in Q1 2026. We are seeking talented freelance prop makers, seamsters and seamstresses to complement our current roster of amazing suppliers to work in either SW19 or Farnham.

Key Responsibilities

Head Makers:

• Ideally, previous experience in sculpting three-dimensionally in Plastazote. Extensive training is provided to ensure makers can complete costumes to our standards.
• Experience in sculpting, model making, puppet & prop making, millinery, upholstery, and/or working with fabrics in a 3D environment is beneficial.

Body Makers:

• Knowledge of flat patterning, draping on the stand, machining, and hand sewing. Experience in period costuming or fashion is advantageous.
• Prop-making skills in Plastazote and foam are ideal but not essential; full training will be provided.
• Experience with industrial/domestic sewing and overlocker machines.

 

About You

A degree is a good indication of skill, but a creative background, professionalism, attention to detail, and the ability to work within a team and meet deadlines are the primary requirements.
