Videographer/Photographer

The University of Saint Mary is hiring a Videographer/Photographer to join its in-house creative services team in Leavenworth, Kansas. This role sits at the center of the university’s marketing production workflow, covering everything from concept development and studio photography to live broadcast production for major campus events. About the Role

The Videographer/Photographer functions as the lead producer within the Creative Services department, handling the full video production workflow from pre-production scripting through final delivery for marketing, admissions, and fundraising campaigns. On any given week, that might mean directing a student testimonial shoot in the morning, cutting a broadcast-ready package in the afternoon, and managing a livestream setup for a Commencement or White Coat Ceremony in the evening. The role also carries a supervisory component, managing a team of student photographers across events, games, and department projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Shoot and edit video content across formats for marketing campaigns, digital advertising, and donor-facing productions, managing each project from concept to delivery on time and on budget.
• Direct both candid and staged photography sessions, maintaining a well-organized archive of raw and edited assets using FTP and cloud storage workflows.
• Operate and manage livestream broadcasts for select university events using OBS and video-over-IP technology including NDI and PTZ camera systems.
• Script and narrate video content as needed, guiding storytelling decisions that align with the university’s brand standards.
• Recruit, train, and supervise student photographers, designing hands-on sessions covering shooting technique, post-production workflow, and brand guidelines.
• Operate the university’s drone for aerial production coverage, with training available for candidates who are not yet certified.

What You Bring

• Three to five years of professional experience in video production and photography, with a demo reel and portfolio required at the time of application.
• Proficiency in Premiere Pro or a comparable NLE, along with After Effects, Audition, Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator.
• Hands-on experience with DSLR and mirrorless camera systems, digital cinema equipment, audio recording devices, and broadcast hardware including switchers and mixers.
• Motion graphic design experience and familiarity with drone piloting are genuine advantages for this position.
