Videographer / Drone Operator — Marine & Yacht Media
- Part Time
- Tampa, Florida, US
VOARVUE
VOARVUE is hiring a Videographer and Drone Operator for marine and yacht media production based in Tampa, Florida. This role sits on the capture side of a commercial media production workflow, responsible for delivering cinematic vessel footage and professional photography that feeds directly into a dedicated post-production pipeline. It suits a shooter who is equally comfortable behind a camera on a rolling dock and behind the controls of a drone over open water.
About the Role
VOARVUE operates as the in-house production team for independent yacht brokers, brokerages, and charter companies, producing listing video and marketing content that competes visually with the biggest names in the industry. The Videographer and Drone Operator works project-to-project across marinas, docks, and open water locations throughout the Tampa Bay area and beyond, handing organized footage packages off to an editing team rather than cutting the work themselves. A typical shoot day includes on-site staging support, drone flight operations, and stills capture, making this a physically active, client-facing production role.
Key Responsibilities
- Shoot cinematic listing video and professional photography on location at marinas, docks, and on-water settings across commercial media production assignments.
- Operate a drone for both stationary and dynamic aerial footage around vessels, structures, and moving boats, maintaining safe flight discipline on every job.
- Follow FAA Part 107 regulations and complete all pre-flight and LAANC airspace authorization procedures before each flight.
- Support clients on-site by helping stage the vessel, assisting with launch from dock or trailer, and serving as an active crew member throughout the shoot day.
- Deliver complete, organized footage and photo sets to the post-production team according to each shoot brief.
- Maintain gear readiness across Sony camera bodies and DJI Mavic 3 Pro systems to meet the visual standards of each marine media production.
What You Bring
- Current FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate, required without exception.
- Demonstrated ability to fly drones around moving objects, vessels, and structures while avoiding hazards and still capturing usable shots.
- A portfolio or demo reel that shows your actual work, with marine, boating, or on-water footage considered a strong plus.
- 1 to 5 years of experience in videography and aerial camera work, with the reel carrying more weight than the resume.
- Physical comfort working on boats and on the water across varying conditions.
- Personal gear preferred, particularly Sony bodies and a DJI Mavic 3 Pro.
Why This Role
VOARVUE is building its first dedicated shooter position, which means the person who lands this role has real input into how the production workflow develops as volume grows. The role starts part-time on a per-project basis with a genuine path to full-time, compensated at a day rate of $250 to $450 for half-day shoots and $450 to $750 for full-day shoots, equivalent to $40 to $80 per hour. For a Videographer and Drone Operator who wants consistent marine media production work without taking on editing responsibilities, the structure here is straightforward and the ceiling is real.
Submit your reel and Part 107 confirmation to be considered for the Videographer and Drone Operator role at VOARVUE in Tampa, Florida.
