About the Role

The position lives inside Footballco’s video team, which produces regular YouTube series tied to the football calendar, often in partnership with commercial partners. Day to day, the editor takes recorded material through the full post-production workflow, from selects and rough cut through to a polished, deliverable episode that holds viewers through to the end. The work is format-driven, meaning each project has an established structure that needs to be served consistently while leaving room for the content of that shoot to breathe.

Key Responsibilities

• Edit long-form YouTube videos across quiz, game and entertainment-led formats, shaping raw footage into structured, repeatable show episodes.
• Make editorial decisions around pacing, revelation and jeopardy so that viewers tracking a game or competition stay engaged through each stage of the format.
• Work closely with producers from the outset of each project to understand the intended narrative, format rules and target audience before touching the timeline.
• Apply sound design, music, graphics, reactions and cutaways as editorial tools that build entertainment value rather than decorating a finished cut.
• Manage all media and project files throughout post-production, maintaining folder structures, naming conventions and archive standards that allow content to be retrieved cleanly long after delivery.
• Produce platform cutdowns and promotional versions of completed edits, and proofread subtitles and graphics before any asset goes out.

What You Bring

• A strong edit history in digital video production, specifically long-form YouTube or episodic online content rather than short-form social.
• Fluency in Adobe Premiere Pro as the primary editing tool, with working knowledge of associated post-production software.
• Demonstrated understanding of audience retention mechanics and how editorial structure influences watch time on YouTube.
• Experience editing format-driven content, quiz shows, challenge series or competition formats where premise, stakes and payoff need to be clearly communicated.
• Strong project management habits, with a track record of delivering on schedule and communicating status clearly across a production team.
