About the Role

The Homepage Programming team operates at the center of CNN’s digital news workflow, working across global editorial desks, distribution editors, and audience teams to surface journalism with clarity and impact. On any given shift, this Associate Producer, Digital Programming is packaging content across live coverage, video, photo galleries, and interactives, while also running A/B headline tests and drafting push alerts in collaboration with senior producers. The role reports to a Senior Producer and requires full flexibility across a 24/7 news schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Key Responsibilities

• Curate and package CNN’s home surfaces across digital news formats including live coverage, video, articles, photo galleries, graphics, and interactives for both US and international audiences.
• Exercise editorial news judgment to frame CNN journalism accurately and engagingly across all homepage placements and alert sends.
• Draft and send push alerts in coordination with newsroom colleagues and senior producers, maintaining accuracy and timeliness under deadline pressure.
• Work within the CMS and publishing tools to execute smooth, accurate content updates throughout the broadcast and digital news cycle.
• Craft audience-tested headlines and contribute to visual treatment decisions, including running A/B tests to optimize content performance.
• Participate in post-mortems and strategic programming conversations that balance editorial standards, audience engagement, and business priorities.

What You Bring

• Minimum 2 years of experience in digital news publishing or a related digital media production role.
• Strong writing and line-editing skills applied to fast-moving news contexts.
• Hands-on experience with CMS platforms used in digital news environments.
• Demonstrated understanding of content across multiple digital formats, including video and live event coverage.
• Ability to manage editorial decisions independently while communicating clearly with newsroom stakeholders.
