Job Position(s): VFX Producer - Senior - Permanent role
Project Type: Feature Film
Job Date: Full Time
Compensation: Paid - Salary

Mikros Animation is hiring a Senior VFX Producer for a permanent position based in Montreal, Canada. This role sits at the centre of VFX production workflow, owning the budget and schedule across every project from bid stage through delivery. It suits a seasoned producer who has managed complex VFX pipelines on feature film or episodic television productions and knows how to keep clients, supervisors, and departments aligned without losing the thread.

About the Role

The Senior VFX Producer works directly alongside VFX Supervisors and department leads to drive projects from initial cost evaluation through final delivery, operating across the full post-production workflow. On any given day this means managing Shotgun tracking, forecasting budget risks, responding to client change requests, and keeping the production team ahead of schedule. The slate at Mikros Animation spans animation and VFX-heavy productions, so the volume and variety of projects is consistent.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with the VFX Supervisor and Business Development to evaluate project costs and prepare competitive bids for incoming productions.
  • Build and maintain the global production strategy for each VFX project, aligning milestones, performance targets, and delivery schedules with client requirements.
  • Manage client communication throughout the production cycle, including issuing revised bids for new shots and scope changes while protecting deadlines and budgets.
  • Assign key talent to projects in consultation with department managers, confirming the right skill mix is in place and flagging additional resource needs as productions evolve.
  • Keep Shotgun up to date at all times, maintaining thorough tracking of schedule and budget against the original quote and project plan.
  • Lead mid-production and post-mortem reviews, identify process gaps, and implement improvements to increase efficiency across the VFX pipeline.

What You Bring

  • Several years of producing experience on VFX-driven feature film or episodic television productions at a recognised studio or post facility.
  • Proven fluency with Shotgun as a primary production tracking and scheduling tool.
  • A track record of managing budgets and bids independently, including forecasting schedule and cost risk under client change pressure.
  • Experience conducting performance reviews, mentoring junior producers, and working with department managers on staffing decisions.
  • Strong client-facing communication skills built through direct project liaison on delivered productions.

Why This Role

Mikros Animation is an established name in animation and VFX production with a consistent slate and genuine senior-level scope in this position. Based in Montreal, the studio operates within a strong local production community with access to experienced crew and a steady pipeline of work. This is a permanent role with real leadership responsibility, not a contract position dressed up as one.
