Amazon MGM Studios is hiring a VFX Manager, International Originals VFX, based in Mexico City to oversee visual effects production across its LATAM and Canadian scripted slate. This role sits within the International Originals division and covers the full VFX pipeline from development and greenlighting through post-production delivery on scripted series and films for Prime Video. It suits an experienced VFX Producer or VFX Manager who knows how to manage vendor relationships, read a budget, and keep complex episodic television and film projects moving across multiple simultaneous timelines.

About the Role

The VFX Manager, International Originals VFX reports to the Head of VFX, International, and works across a selected slate of scripted series and movies produced throughout the Americas. Day-to-day work involves breaking down scripts and creative materials, assessing VFX scope, managing vendor bids, and coordinating with production companies on budgets, schedules, and deliverables. This person is the primary VFX point of contact for assigned productions, working closely with internal Production, Post-Production, Business Affairs, and Creative teams throughout each project’s lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop VFX assessments and breakdowns from scripts, storyboards, and pre-vis materials to support the greenlight process alongside creative, finance, and production teams.
• Oversee vendor selection, bid evaluation, and work allocation for assigned projects, managing vendor issues and developing solutions to keep productions on track.
• Track VFX budgets, schedules, and deliverables across multiple projects in various stages of production and post-production, reporting status to internal stakeholders.
• Build and maintain working relationships with VFX vendors and talent across the Americas, supporting contract negotiations and ongoing partnerships.
• Review VFX deliverables against quality standards, identify production blockers, and coordinate resolutions while maintaining creative integrity and budget targets.
• Manage show data across studio databases and internal communication tools, and take ownership of smaller to mid-sized productions from inception through delivery with minimal oversight.

What You Bring

• Proven experience as a VFX Producer or VFX Manager on scripted episodic television or feature film production.
• Hands-on knowledge of VFX post-production workflow, including breakdowns, bidding, vendor management, and delivery pipelines.
• Experience supporting productions across LATAM or Canada is a strong asset given the regional scope of this role.
• Strong familiarity with production management and project tracking databases used in studio environments.
• Ability to manage multiple projects across development, production, and post simultaneously without losing detail on any single show.
