Crafty Apes is hiring a VFX Bidding Producer to join their Sales and Bidding department, with a preference for candidates based on the US West Coast or in Australia. This role sits at the intersection of creative and commercial, responsible for producing detailed shot breakdowns and priced bid packages across feature film, episodic television, and commercial VFX pipelines. About the Role

The VFX Bidding Producer joins a global Sales and Bidding team, succeeding established bidding leadership and taking ownership of client-facing estimates for a slate that spans major studio features and episodic series. Day to day, this person is analyzing scripts and turnovers, building bids in ShotGrid, coordinating scope reviews with VFX Supervisors and EPs, and managing revision cycles as cuts and creative change. The position is structured to provide time zone coverage across US West Coast and Asia-Pacific operations, making location in PST or AEST a genuine operational priority.

Key Responsibilities

• Break down scripts, artwork, and sequence turnovers to produce comprehensive VFX bid proposals that accurately reflect 2D compositing, 3D asset, FX, DMP, and onset supervision requirements.
• Partner with Executive Producers, VFX Supervisors, and CG Supervisors to define shot scope, scheduling constraints, and bidding methodology for each project.
• Serve as the primary client contact during the bidding and procurement stage, presenting estimates and negotiating creative parameters, budgets, and schedules with studio executives and VFX producers.
• Track script revisions and cut updates, issuing revised estimates and change orders in line with evolving project scope.
• Maintain accurate historical bid data and pipeline records within ShotGrid, supporting consistency and accountability across the global VFX pipeline.
• Hand off awarded projects to show producers and supervisors with clear documentation of scope assumptions, turnover requirements, and target margins.

What You Bring

• Five or more years working as a VFX Bidding Producer, Senior VFX Producer, or Bidding TD at a high-end visual effects facility.
• Deep working knowledge of photoreal VFX workflows across compositing, 3D, lighting, FX, and DMP disciplines.
• Advanced proficiency in ShotGrid (Flow Production Tracking), Microsoft Excel, and Google Sheets for bid management and post-production workflow tracking.
• Established relationships with studio clients across feature film and episodic television production.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with direct experience presenting bids and negotiating with studio-level executives.
