VFX Producer

FOLKS is hiring a VFX Producer to join their team in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. This role sits at the centre of VFX production, responsible for managing projects end to end across episodic television and feature film pipelines, from initial award through final delivery. About the Role

Reporting to the Executive Producer, the VFX Producer works across FOLKS’s production slate, partnering with Heads of Department to balance scope, budget, schedule, and creative quality on each assigned project. Day to day this means owning client communication, running delivery forecasts, and resolving the production conflicts that sit between what the creative team needs and what the schedule allows. FOLKS operates across 10 global studios as part of the Pitch Black network, so distributed production environments are part of the territory.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead assigned VFX productions from award through final delivery, owning the full project schedule, milestone plan, and delivery forecast.
• Monitor budgets and profitability throughout the production lifecycle, identifying financial risks early and building mitigation plans before they become problems.
• Own day-to-day client communication, including review schedules, delivery expectations, and creative feedback loops across episodic and feature film projects.
• Partner with Heads of Department and Department Managers to balance capacity, creative output, and delivery requirements across the VFX pipeline.
• Escalate budget, delivery, and client relationship risks to the Executive Producer with clear context and proposed solutions.
• Contribute to bids, resource planning, and utilization forecasting at a studio level where required.

What You Bring

• Extensive experience leading VFX or animation productions from award through final delivery on feature film or episodic television projects.
• Proven financial accountability across complex productions, including budget management, forecasting, and profitability tracking.
• Hands-on experience with production tracking tools such as ShotGrid or an equivalent platform.
• Experience managing multiple concurrent productions and working with international or distributed production teams.
• Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills built across real production pressure, not just process.
