Project Type: Short Film
Job Date: Full Time
Compensation: $50/hr

Hearst is hiring a Temporary Video Editor for Delish, based out of Manhattan, New York, working fully remote. This is a post-production role focused on editing short-form and digital-first video content for distribution across YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and Snapchat. It suits an editor with a strong feel for food and lifestyle storytelling who can move quickly through high-volume post-production workflow without sacrificing craft.

About the Role

The Temporary Video Editor sits within Delish’s video department, which produces digital content for an audience that reaches over 150 million people monthly in the U.S. alone. Day to day, this person is pulling selects from raw footage, building sequences, and delivering platform-specific cuts that match Delish’s established visual style. The role runs across multiple projects simultaneously, so familiarity with organized media management and efficient post-production workflow is essential from day one.

Key Responsibilities

  • Edit short-form digital video content for social platforms, applying platform-specific specs and format requirements for each deliverable.
  • Comb through large volumes of raw footage to identify the strongest moments and construct audience-focused narratives that hold attention in a digital-first environment.
  • Apply Delish’s brand style guidelines consistently across all edits while bringing creative solutions that serve the story without overriding the established look and feel.
  • Join pre-production brainstorming sessions and contribute editorial perspective during the concept development phase, not just in the cutting room.
  • Maintain organized media storage and post-production workflow practices that keep shared projects moving cleanly across the team.
  • Work in Adobe Premiere Pro as the primary editing platform, with After Effects and Photoshop used to support finishing and visual polish.

What You Bring

  • A minimum of two years of hands-on post-production experience in broadcast, digital media, or film production.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, with working knowledge of After Effects and Photoshop.
  • Demonstrated experience editing high-volume content for social platforms, with a clear sense of pacing and digital storytelling.
  • Solid understanding of color correction fundamentals and post-production best practices.
  • Awareness of current social media trends and how editing style shifts across platforms and audience expectations.

Why This Role

Hearst Magazines is one of the largest publishers in the world, and Delish is one of its most active video-producing brands, which means the volume of work here reflects a real production operation rather than an occasional content push. This Temporary Video Editor position pays $50.00 per hour, and compensation is determined based on experience, skills, qualifications, and location. The role offers direct exposure to high-output digital video production at scale, which carries genuine weight on a post-production resume.

If your editing background is rooted in digital media and social-first storytelling, apply now for the Temporary Video Editor role at Hearst.
