Job Type
Warner Bros. Discovery is hiring a Sr. Systems Engineer (Broadcast – Graphics & Immersive Production) based in Atlanta, GA. This role sits within the broadcast engineering division and is responsible for the design, deployment, and third-level support of graphics and immersive production systems used across live television production workflows. It’s a strong fit for a broadcast engineer who has spent years in the trenches supporting real-time graphics pipelines and wants to work at scale across a global media operation.
About the Role
This position functions within a Center of Excellence model, meaning the Sr. Systems Engineer (Broadcast – Graphics & Immersive Production) sets the technical standard that Tier 2 teams around the world follow for graphics systems in live broadcast production. Day-to-day work moves between lab testing of new software builds, troubleshooting escalated production incidents, and contributing to the design of new AR, VR, and XR production environments. When a critical system goes down during a live broadcast, this is the person who gets the call.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the Tier 3 escalation point for complex graphics system failures across live broadcast production environments, including on-call availability for global major incidents.
- Conduct laboratory testing of new software versions, hardware configurations, and cloud-based broadcast graphics deployments to validate them for operational use.
- Design and commission new graphics and immersive production systems, including virtual production environments and camera tracking integrations.
- Author and maintain SOPs, technical standards, and operational documentation that Tier 2 support engineers across multiple regions depend on.
- Train and mentor Tier 2 support staff on graphics platforms and broadcast production workflows, building support readiness globally.
- Participate in COE meetings to track live issues, define future technology solutions, and align on standards across the broadcast engineering organization.
What You Bring
- Minimum five years of hands-on experience with broadcast technology in live production environments.
- Working knowledge of 2D and 3D broadcast graphics systems, AR/VR/XR solutions, and camera tracking systems.
- Direct experience with graphics platforms such as VizRT, Ross XPression, Pixotope, or Unreal Engine for broadcast applications.
- Familiarity with virtual production environments, LED volume workflows, or real-time rendering pipelines is a plus.
- Scripting, automation, or workflow integration experience that supports broadcast graphics operations.
Why This Role
Warner Bros. Discovery operates one of the largest live broadcast production portfolios in the industry, which means the systems this engineer supports are running during some of the highest-stakes television on air. The Sr. Systems Engineer (Broadcast – Graphics & Immersive Production) role offers genuine scope across global infrastructure, with real influence over the technical standards the organization adopts going forward. Atlanta has become a serious hub for both broadcast and episodic television production, making this a well-positioned long-term career move.
